Thanks to the support of Langley School six Norwich Canoe Club athletes (which was the largest club representation from the UK clubs) were able to take part in the 24K Waterlands Marathon in Amsterdam on Saturday. The race course is a 24K horseshoe shape following the canals just outside Amsterdam – some as wide as the Thames and others narrow with only room for a few boats across. It was great race experience with around a dozen countries competing from all over Europe so the standard was high. The film shows some of the trip and and a little of what the race was like including the infamous second portage. Thanks to the Amsterdam Argonauten Club for hosting us Friday night in their very picturesque village. There was some great racing from all the Norwich paddlers .
